Cities in the Sky gets some new coverage

We just found out we were covered in this week’s edition of the Epoch Times!  This newspaper is available in 35 countries and in 21 languages. Awesome! While we love all the internet exposure, it’s nice to be in print.

Epoch Cities in the Sky coverage

This great article by John Fuller was originally published on the website TechZWN, but got picked up by this larger publication. As you can see, we’re right under the article about the architect Frank Gehry. We like how they highlighted Marisa’s quote, “I strongly believe that science fiction writers spark the imagination of everyone from the general population to other writers.”

Thanks to all of you who increased your pledges yesterday and today to help us out. And also a big THANK YOU to our new backers.

Please continue to share the link below on Facebook. It seems to be making a difference!

Making some great progress!

Hi loyal friends!

We are happy to announce today that we are 38% of the way to our goal.  But we only have 12 more days.  So please get the word out so we can successfully make this film happen!

We are continuing to add new press coverage.  He are some stories about Cities in the Sky from the past few days.

Geeky Nerfherder Kickstarter: Cities in the Sky: Science Fiction’s Forgotten Visionaries

Plus the Geeky Nerfherder was kind enough to give us a quote we love! “For sci-fi fans, this film could open up a whole new world!” Thank you, we agree!
Also we’re continuing to add great people to interview in Cities in the Sky.  We recently added Rachel Talalay who made major waves back in the 90′s as one of the first female directors of a science fiction film with Tank Girl.

Yes, in case you’re wondering, we are lining up tons of people from other industries as well like academia and technology.  We’ve just been focusing our announcements on the world of entertainment first and foremost.  (Since we’re film people, that’s our specialty!)  But you’ll be hearing about other types of people in the near future.

Thanks again. Spread the word!  We only have 12 days.  The pressure is on to get to our specified amount before February 5th.

We’ve included a chart below with our progress.  Thanks in part to an amazing generous new backer yesterday, we are increasingly closer to our goal!   Thanks to all our of backers so much for believing in this project and playing a role in getting it made.

New Coverage, New Interviewees, New Momentum

We’re happy to say that our campaign has really been picking up some major momentum.

We got featured in an article on io9 today, which you can check out here: http://io9.com/5975574/crowdfund-a-documentary-about-science-fictions-forgotten-visionaries-and-an-animated-adaptation-of-lovecrafts-dagon.  The article also got picked up by Gizmodo!

We received a nice little story about the project from TechZWN, which you can read here: http://techzwn.com/2013/01/cities-in-the-sky-to-celebrate-science-fiction-visionaries.

We also got a very nice plug from Giant Freakin Robot the other day.  http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/scifi/fund-cities-sky-documentary-celebrating-forgotten-science-fiction-writers.html

In other news, we are continuing to confirm additional interviews for the documentary. Stay tuned for more developments.  We are really excited to have you all be an integral part of the process and look forward to bringing you a very cool documentary in the near future.

As a side note, we only have 22 days left, so please continue to spread the word!  We are so grateful for your contributions to our project.
